BRISTOL BID GREEN & BLUE VISION
Bristol, United Kingdom
The Bristol BID Green & Blue Vision is a landscape-led framework to raise the pace, scale and impact of green and blue infrastructure across Bristol city centre. The first publication of the newly unified Bristol Business Improvement District, it brings together the Redcliffe & Temple BID Action Plan and the Bristol City Centre BID Green Audit into a single, city-wide ambition.
Shaped through extensive engagement with businesses, landowners and partners, including exploratory walks, an online Placechangers map of more than 100 ideas and targeted workshops, the Vision identifies ten demonstrator ideas across the city centre. From a floating ecosystem at Temple Quay and nature play in Queen Square to a green boulevard on University Road, each idea is located, costed and phased, and illustrated to provoke conversation and attract investment.
MOOWD led the consultation, design and authorship of the Vision, together with a city-wide De-Paving proposition that reframes Bristol’s extensive hard standing as its greatest untapped opportunity for greening, drainage and nature recovery, supporting the city’s ambition to become the UK’s first Wetland City.
