ATLAS PLACE FRAMEWORK
Bristol, United Kingdom
Atlas Place represents a bold and cohesive vision for regenerative neighbourhood transformation in the heart of Fishponds, Bristol. Situated along the strategic Bristol to Bath Railway Path corridor, the framework unites three major landholdings—Graphic Packaging International, Central Fishponds Ltd, and Castel Ltd—into a single, place-led urban regeneration initiative. Developed in collaboration with Bristol City Council, the strategy offers an integrated response to the area's housing, infrastructure, and community needs, with a focus on delivering sustainable, inclusive, and characterful places.
Rooted in MOOWD’s systems based approach, the framework is structured around seven Place Strategies that promote ecological performance, spatial legibility, and social resilience. The vision combines green infrastructure and biodiverse streetscapes with active travel corridors, new public spaces, and development that reflects the area’s industrial legacy and community identity.
By establishing a green spine along Goodneston Road, enhancing local gateways, and delivering a network of pocket parks, the plan transforms fragmented, underutilised land into a connected and liveable urban ecosystem. Informed by extensive consultation and design review, Atlas Place sets a new benchmark for joined-up, design-led regeneration—anchored in collaboration, shaped by local context, and geared towards long-term social and environmental value.
